If releasing a yearly recap playlist at the end of February isn’t enough of a clue, time is a scare resource these days.

The clock never ticks any slower, no matter how many accomplishments you desperately try to squeeze into each day. It constantly drains itself like an hourglass mocking your use of every second by delicately spitting its sand at your feet. The more you try to accomplish, the faster that sand seems to trickle out of the hourglass’s mouth.

No matter how quickly time ticks away however, it will always be a key resource in terms of the content delivered on this website.

Each shared playlist is not only a glimpse into brand new music. The playlists serve as time capsules capturing the essence of what songs defined every single year/quarter from the website’s inception until this very moment.

Each playlist is an attempt to metaphorically spit back at the hourglass, freezing a period of time in a vessel of sound unaffected by the clock’s relentless progression.

As a result, if you want to listen to a quarterly playlist from 2020 to remember what inspired musicians at the onset of the pandemic, you’ve got it. If you want use a holiday playlist from 2017 to reminisce about the joy that a particularly memorable December brought you, the music’s there and waiting. At any moment’s notice, there’s a slice of time waiting to reintroduce the sounds that inspired some of life’s great memories whenever you want to access them.

This playlist is another snapshot in time containing two hundred of my favorite songs released over the past year in order from 1 to 200.
